Hyundai IONIQ 3 has gone on sale in Türkiye: the first fully electric model produced at the Izmit plant has taken its place on the price list as of October 2026, with four trim levels and two battery options. The entry-level Select starts from 1.799.000 TL while the top trim N Line EVO goes up to 3.220.000 TL. The model marks the beginning of Hyundai's electric era in Türkiye.

Highlights

  • Series production started at the Izmit plant on August 14, 2026; the initial target is 30,000 units per year.
  • Prices: Select 1.799.000 TL, Trend 2.099.000 TL, Prime 2.249.000 TL, N Line EVO 3.220.000 TL.
  • Two batteries: 42.2 kWh LFP (343 km) and 61 kWh NMC (up to 482 km WLTP).
  • DC fast charging in the 10-80% range takes about 29-30 minutes.
  • The Pleos Connect infotainment system is being used in a Hyundai for the first time in Europe .

How much do the Hyundai IONIQ 3's Türkiye prices cost, and which trims are available?

The price list was announced in October instead of the planned September. The reason for this delay was not clarified with official statements; the September 2 price list did not yet include the IONIQ 3. As of October 8, however, the prices of all four trims were confirmed, and Hyundai launched a campaign period valid between October 8 and 31.

TrimBattery / PowerWLTP RangePrice
Select42.2 kWh / 107.8 kW343 km1.799.000 TL
Trend61 kWh / 99.5 kW482 km2.099.000 TL
Prime61 kWh476 km2.249.000 TL
N Line EVO61 kWh435 km3.220.000 TL

The trim ladder is simple and easy to understand. Select is the entry level; Trend is the gateway to the larger battery that extends range and the 10-inch screen setup. Prime adds to Trend 18-inch alloy wheels and projector-type LED smart headlights. N Line EVO, on the other hand, adds 19-inch N Line design wheels and metallic details on top of Prime. Screen size also varies by trim: there are 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch Pleos panel options. The difference between Select and N Line EVO is 1.421.000 TL - for that money, you are buying not just equipment but a visual identity as well.

The first electric Hyundai from Izmit

What sets this model apart from an ordinary launch is where the assembly line stands. The Izmit plant has been producing since 1997; in total, more than 3.4 million vehicles have rolled out, over 2.6 million of which were exported. Today its capacity is 200,000 vehicles per year. However, a fully electric passenger car had never come out of this plant before - with the IONIQ 3, it does so for the first time.

With a 250 million Euro investment, it will produce 30,000 IONIQ 3 units per year in the first phase.
Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology

The series production ceremony on August 14, 2026, tells more than a paper press conference. About half of the plant was modernized in the last two years; more than a thousand employees moved into different roles. Hyundai is the second manufacturer producing electric cars in Türkiye - a title that comes after Togg and is the first among foreign brands. The IONIQ 3s rolling out of Izmit To more than 40 countries will be exported; meaning the vehicle we are talking about here is being produced not only for the Turkish market but also for Europe's supply plan.

On the investment side, the figures

A total of 1.47 billion Euro has been transferred to Hyundai Motor Türkiye since 1997. The additional investment planned for the IONIQ 3, the new i20 and the Bayon is 715 million Euro. The fact that approximately 80% of Izmit production goes to exports also shows that the payback plan for these expenditures does not rely on the Turkish domestic market. The picture that long defined the Turkish automotive industry in terms of assembly and parts production is now taking on a different form with lines converted to electric platforms.

Range, charging and performance: Two batteries, two characters

The IONIQ 3 comes with the 400V architecture of the E-GMP platform and offers two battery options. The smaller one 42.2 kWh LFP chemistry; it delivers a range of up to 343 km in the WLTP cycle. The larger one 61 kWh NMC; unlike the Select, it reaches up to 482 km with Trend equipment. In Prime this figure is 476 km, and in the N Line EVO it drops to 435 km due to aerodynamic and wheel differences. There is also an interesting detail on the power side: the long-range version, with its 99.5 kW (135.2 PS), is weaker on paper than the standard-range 107.8 kW (146.5 PS) version. As the battery grows, weight increases, while the motor calibration is tuned for efficiency. Torque in both versions is 250 Nm; the 0-100 km/h sprint is about 9.0 seconds for the standard version and 9.6 seconds for the long-range one. Top speed is 170 km/h.

On the charging side, DC fast charging from 10% to 80% takes about 29 minutes with the LFP battery and 30 minutes with the NMC. The limits of the 400V architecture show themselves here - competitors using 800V can theoretically offer shorter stops. In practice, however, a half-hour break is sufficient. On the AC side, the onboard unit supports up to 11 kW ; charging from 20% to 80% at home takes about 3.5 hours. A vehicle left plugged in overnight is full by morning; this is the oldest and most honest truth of the business - most range anxiety comes down to charging discipline.

Aerodynamics and dimensions

Hyundai calls this body an "Aero Hatch" and the claim is not empty: the drag coefficient is approximately 0.263. Length is 4,155 mm, or 4,170 mm in N Line equipment with the additional front section; the wheelbase is 2,680 mm. Cargo capacity is 441 liters - 322 liters of which is the standard compartment and 119 liters comes from the lower compartment called the Megabox. Despite the compact exterior dimensions, keeping the wheelbase generous remains the most tangible gain of electric platforms over conventional designs.

Pleos Connect and the technology package

Yeni IONIQ 3'te multimedya bir radyo ekranı değil, güncellemelerle yıllar içinde değişen bir yazılım sözleşmesi.

The first thing that catches the eye in the IONIQ 3's cabin is the Pleos display, which is 12.9 or 14.6 inches depending on the equipment. The real news, however, is on the software side: Pleos Connect, an infotainment system based on Android Automotive OS and being used for the first time in Europe in a Hyundai model. Navigation, entertainment, smart assistant, and regular software updates run directly inside the vehicle; support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as AI-based voice recognition are also available. In the old days, we used to look at a radio screen called a multimedia unit; now half of the cars are getting a software contract between the seat and the steering wheel, which can change over the years with updates.

The practical side of electric use, V2L support is also offered depending on the hardware; with a converter providing up to 3.6 kW of power, the vehicle serves as an outlet for the outside world in situations such as camping or power outages. On the safety side, the Hyundai SmartSense package includes HDA 2 highway driving assist, remote smart parking assist (RSPA), and blind-spot view monitor.

Tax advantage and market positioning

The tax structure plays a big role in the success of the figures in the IONIQ 3's price list. With the Presidential Decree No. 10115 dated July 24, 2025, the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) on electric vehicles became based on motor power and tax base. Both versions of the IONIQ 3 staying under 160 kW allows them to benefit from the lower ÖTV bracket. On the MTV side, electric vehicles are taxed according to motor power, and they are in an advantageous position by paying roughly a quarter of what a gasoline vehicle pays.

The market context also backs up the prices: in the first half of 2026, the market share of electric vehicles reached 18.5% and Türkiye is Europe's fourth-largest electric car market. The IONIQ 3's list of competitors is broad: Kia EV3 (from 2,385,000 TL), Renault 5 E-Tech (from 1,888,000 TL), BYD Dolphin, MG4, and Togg T10X. The Select's entry price of 1,799,000 TL is a bold point in this picture; before the launch, estimates were around 1,965,000 TL, and the announced figure came in below expectations.

Are there October 2026 campaigns?

Yes. Hyundai is offering credit-supported campaigns between October 8-31, 2026; the bank agreements include interest rates starting from 3.39% at BBVA, 3.29% at TEB, and 3.19% at Yapı Kredi. The maximum campaign sales price for the Select Standard Range 107.8 kW version has been set at 1,799,000 TL. In a table where the campaign price appears at the same level as the list price, the vehicle is positioned without needing discount support at first. As those who have long worked in this profession will know, a model that can sell without campaigns is a rare bird in the market; the rest wait to see which one will return with a discount list at the end of the year.

Conclusion: Izmit's electric exam

IONIQ 3 is bringing two things to Türkiye at once: an electric vehicle production line in Izmit whose output will be exported, and a product priced with tax advantages that offers a realistic range of 343 to 482 km per battery. Fast charging times of 29-30 minutes and a current software infrastructure like Pleos Connect make the car technically aligned with the demands of its era. The main thing to watch will be how quickly the annual production target of 30,000 units and exports to more than 40 countries integrate into the rapidly growing electric side of this market.
