Togg's October Move: How Will It Affect the Zero-Interest Financing Market?

The campaign Togg launched in October combines interest-free short-term loan options with 48-month long-term financing at 2.95% interest for the T10X and T10F; in return, buyers are asked for a large down payment. In short, the interest is zeroed out, but the cost is shifted to the down payment and short term. Considering that the car market shrank by 27.8% in September, the aim of this move is clear: to protect market leadership.

Highlights

  • The down payment on the T10X can drop to 584,980 TL; the remaining amount is financed with an interest-free short-term loan.
  • For those wanting a long term, the condition is: 1.7 million TL, 48 months, 2.95% interest, monthly 78,008 TL installment.
  • In September 2026, car sales fell back to 63,736 units with a 27.8%
  • decline.
  • The Togg T10X, with 4,237 units, became the best-selling model among all cars in September.

Those benefiting from the long-term package are given a one-year Toggen charging gift worth 3,000 kWh.

The package announced specifically for the October period includes different loan combinations for the T10X V2 and T10F V2. Interest-free options are limited to short terms: 6, 8, or at most 12 months. As the term shortens, the available loan amount grows; in return, the monthly installment also reaches unignorable sizes. The campaign is also valid for a limited number of vehicles and covers only individual users.

ModelLoan AmountTermMonthly Installment
T10F V21,000,000 TL6 months166,667 TL
T10F V2800,000 TL8 months100,000 TL
T10F V2600,000 TL12 months50,000 TL
T10X V2800,000 TL6 months133,334 TL
T10X V2600,000 TL8 months75,000 TL
T10X V2400,000 TL12 months33,334 TL
T10X and T10F V21,700,000 TL48 months78,008 TL (2.95% interest)

What stands out in the list is that the interest-free options do not finance the entire vehicle. The amount not covered by the loan must be paid as a down payment. According to calculations in the press, on a T10X priced at 1,909,048 TL, the down payment can drop to as low as 584,980 TL. That is why the campaign news was presented to readers with headlines like "Togg giving 585 thousand TL closes the deal." On NTV's side, a different combination stood out with the framing "zero Togg for those paying 711 thousand lira, installments 33 thousand lira"; both are different slices of the same packages.

What Does the October 2026 Price List Show?

Before evaluating the financing, it is necessary to look at the pricing side. On the T10X, the entry-level V1 RWD Standard Range is 1,909,048 TL; the V1 RWD Long Range is 2,219,668 TL, the V2 RWD Long Range is 2,411,000 TL, and the V2 4More Obsidian is 3,218,137 TL. The picture is similar on the T10F: the V1 RWD Standard Range is 1,884,980 TL, the V1 RWD Long Range is 2,195,600 TL, the V2 RWD Long Range is 2,370,930 TL, and the V2 4More is 3,217,937 TL. The turnkey price includes the SCT, VAT, motor vehicle tax, license plate, and registration fees; traffic insurance and comprehensive insurance are excluded. Campaigns cannot be combined, and Togg reserves the right to change the conditions without notice.

The Real Cost of 0% Interest: Where to Look?

As someone who has been watching this market for over thirty years, I can say this with confidence: 0% interest never means free money. In the past, when banks promised zero interest, they piled the risk into hidden costs; today the picture is not much different. In Togg's package, the cost comes back through two channels instead of interest: a high down payment and a short term. With the 6-month option, the monthly installment of 166,667 TL is not an ordinary budget item for an individual car buyer in Türkiye. Those who stretch to longer terms pay 2.95% interest this time, which counts as low under current market conditions but is not zero.

There are also bank-side costs. Items such as the allocation fee and lien establishment fees at contracted banks fall outside the 0% interest label. In Yapı Kredi's campaign, amounts such as an allocation fee of 5 per thousand (+15% BSMV) and lien fees (350.92 TL) are visible. In addition, BDDK rules draw the boundaries: for vehicles with a final invoice value of 2.5 million TL or below, a loan of up to 70% of the invoice amount can be used with terms of up to 48 months; in the 2.5-5 million TL range this ratio drops to 50% and 36 months. The campaign fits into the picture only within this framework.

There are also user complaints on complaint platforms regarding interest-free loan campaigns; payment screen issues and price guarantee requests stand out. Individual complaints should not be turned into generalizations, but conditions such as basing the price on the delivery date and passing tax and duty changes on to the user should be noted as cost uncertainties the buyer needs to know from the start.

Why Has the Market Shrunk So Much?

To understand Togg's move, it is enough to look at the September picture. The total market for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles shrank by 24.33%, falling to 83,469 units; the decline in the passenger car side was 27.80%, dropping to 63,736 units. The light commercial vehicle market also shrank by 10.42%. That alone is a harsh month; moreover, the picture in August had been similar: the total market shrank by 20.28% and the passenger car market by 25.16%. In the January-September period, passenger car sales fell by 15.45% to 627,977 units, while total sales fell to 803,465 units.

That said, historical perspective matters: the September market remained above the 10-year September average. So what we are talking about is not an absolute collapse, but a cooling off compared to last year's record levels. In the past, loan interest rates were high but demand was patient; now there is demand, but financing conditions have come to directly determine the buyer's decision. And this is exactly where manufacturers bring financing relief into play instead of price cuts.

The Situation on the Electric Side: Who Leads?

2026'nın ilk yarısında 21.248 satış ve yüzde 26,3 pazar payıyla elektrikli segmentin zirvesine yerleşen Togg, artık Tesla Model Y ve Kia EV2'nin baskısıyla liderliğini korumak zorunda.

The campaign's second pillar is competition in the electric market. In September's ranking of best-selling electric cars, the T10X leads with 4,237 units, followed by the T10F with 2,455 units. The Tesla Model Y is third with 1,725 units, and the Kia EV2 is fourth with 809 units. What's more striking is this: the T10X became the best-selling model of the month not only among electric cars but among all cars. This reinforces Togg's position, having closed out the first half of 2026 with 21,248 electric car sales and a 26.3% market share as the leader.

However, the picture isn't entirely rosy. Although the market share of electric cars rose to 18.5% in the first half, sales in unit terms declined by 5.3%. The market's momentum, which grew by 82.3% to reach 192 thousand units in 2025, has slowed in 2026. On the other hand, Tesla's Model Y pressure and new entry points like the Kia EV2 show that the electric segment is no longer solely Togg's backyard. There are also reports that at one point Togg slipped to second place in the electric market with 2,029 units; since the period is unclear, it wouldn't be right to judge this data on its own, but it suggests the competition is getting close.

Why the Campaign Now?

The answer is simple: to stimulate demand not through the price channel but through the financing channel. While the October package offers individual buyers a short-term option with 0% interest, it provides 100% financing support to corporate and fleet buyers through contracted banks; in fleets, the entire smart device is covered by financing. In other words, the campaign targets not only the showroom but also the corporate demand that creates volume. A 20% discount on Trugo charging services throughout October is also a complementary part of the package; since charging infrastructure is the most debated topic of the ownership experience in electric vehicles, such add-ons carry strategic meaning alongside the installment advantage.

Practical Conclusion for the Buyer: Which Package Suits Whom?

For a buyer with strong cash flow, a down payment between 600-800 thousand TL, and a budget that can handle large installments every 3-4 months afterward, the 0% interest short term is a serious advantage. Not paying interest turns the math in their favor over a 6-12 month horizon. In contrast, a buyer who wants to spread the installment burden will inevitably turn to the 48-month 2.95% option; the interest paid here should be seen as the price of comfort. The 3,000 kWh annual Toggen charging gift, meanwhile, is a genuine-value bonus, especially for high-mileage drivers.

  • Short term (0% interest): low total cost, but a high down payment and high installments.
  • 48 months / 2.95%: reasonable installments, but interest payments and a longer commitment.
  • In both cases, banks have full authority over lending; Togg has no authority to intervene in this process.

In conclusion, this is a measured and calculated move aimed at not letting leadership slip away during a period when the market is shrinking. Instead of cutting prices, Togg is flexing financing, protecting its sales volume while not eroding its brand value. On the buyer's side, the sentence to read is clear: 0% interest is not a discount, it's a tool that changes the timing of your payment. Who it works for depends entirely on budget discipline.
