In electric vehicles, torque vectoring improves road grip and steering response by enabling instant software-controlled distribution of power through dual motors.
How Does Torque Vectoring Work in Electric Cars?
Deniz Erkan11 October 2026

Torque vectoring is the instantaneous redistribution of power between the wheels and axles of an electric vehicle via software control; since there is no mechanical connection between the motors, this distribution happens faster and more flexibly tha…

Carrying the same power at 800 volts halves the current, which allows thinner cables, less heat, and the high charging power to be sustained for longer.
How Does Fast Charging Become a Reality with 800 Volt Architecture?
Deniz Erkan11 October 2026

An 800-volt architecture is an electrical system layout that designs the EV's battery pack, inverter, DC-DC converters, and charging units around a nominal voltage of approximately 800 volts. Because it halves the current needed to carry the same pow…

An engineering comparison of the synchronous, asynchronous, and permanent magnet motor types used in electric cars in terms of efficiency, cost, and torque control.
Electric Car Motor Selection: Synchronous, Asynchronous, and Permanent Magnet
Deniz Erkan11 October 2026

Electric cars use three main motor types: permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), asynchronous (induction) motor, and externally excited synchronous motor (EESM). The PMSM offers the highest efficiency and power density, the asynchronous motor sta…

One of the most important habits my profession as a mechanical engineer has given me is looking not only at a system's outcome, but also at how and why it works. My interest in automobiles is also fueled by this perspective. For me, a car is not just design, performance, or comfort; it is a holistic system where mechanics, electronics, software, and engineering come together.

Over time, I combined my engineering background with software development. The intersection of these two fields has allowed me to look at modern automobiles from a more integrated perspective. I follow the world of automobiles, from engines and suspension to driver assistance systems and software technologies, through the eyes of both an engineer and a car enthusiast.

My aim at Otomobilgi.com is to explain technical subjects in a language that preserves engineering accuracy and keeps curiosity about cars alive, without drowning them in unnecessary complexity. Because for me, a good car is not merely beautiful or fast; it is a special work that conveys design, technology, and driving character as a whole.
