The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SUV is a fully electric performance SUV unveiled to the world on October 17, 2026, producing 1,169 horsepower from three electric motors and reducing 0-100 km/h acceleration to 2.5 seconds. According to the European order calendar, the GT 55 and GT 63 versions will go on sale in spring 2027; for Türkiye, the sale date and price have not yet been announced. On this page, we examine the model's technical specification sheet, charging architecture, and the context of the Turkish market.

What is the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SUV, and what does it promise?
The flagship version of Mercedes-AMG's fully electric GT SUV family, the GT 63, is built on the brand's new AMG.EA platform. This three-motor version produces 860 kW, or 1,169 horsepower of power and 2,000 Nm of torque, in the words of the official release. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h with Launch Control is 2.5 seconds; with the driver package, the top speed rises to 270 km/h. In the GT 53, this value is limited to 250 km/h.
A small distinction needs to be made here. The figure of 1,153 horsepower sometimes circulates in various outlets; when the 860 kW figure in the official release is converted to metric horsepower it reaches 1,169, while 1,153 comes from a different conversion. As those who have been in this business for thirty years know, the safest approach is to draw the line exactly where the official release says.
The holder of that 2.5-second promise in the headline is also the SUV; Mercedes-AMG's GT 4-Door Coupe, introduced in May 2026, is a separate car, offering a 2.1-second 0-100 km/h time and a 300 km/h top speed (with the optional package) with Launch Control. The two models share the same power output and similar technology, but their body types and performance targets differ.
How realistic is the 800-volt architecture and 710 kW charging?

The technical backbone of the GT SUV is the 800-volt electrical architecture on the AMG.EA platform. In the GT 55 and GT 63 versions, DC charging power goes up to 710 kW; the entry-level GT 53 paints a more modest picture with two PSM motors and 600 kW charging power. According to the manufacturer's data, charging from 10% to 80% is completed in 11 minutes; with a 10-minute stop, approximately 450 km of range is gained according to WLTP values.
Although these numbers seem to leave no room for doubt at first glance, a truth lies beneath the surface: a significant portion of existing fast-charging stations cannot yet deliver these power levels. Mercedes-AMG's press release also underscores this situation. The technology's origin is based on the endurance records set by the CONCEPT AMG GT XX at Nardò: over 40,000 km of driving in 8 days and 25 records, including approximately 399 km of range gained with a 5-minute charge. The manufacturer is bringing this track-proven charging speed to series production; whether the infrastructure can keep up is another story.
Battery capacities and range
The GT 53 comes with a battery offering 106 kWh of usable capacity; in the GT 55 and GT 63, this figure rises to 128 kWh. The three-motor flagship version promises a range of up to 700 km on a single charge. The 696 km figure reported by some publications is a variation stemming from different calculation details of the same battery concept in the WLTP cycle; the essential point is that the capacity was designed to push the range beyond 700 km.
Axial flux motors: Technology derived from F1
The secret of the GT 63's performance lies in the motor type. The vehicle uses axial flux technology motors; this technology comes from YASA, which Mercedes-Benz acquired in 2021, and the same approach was matured in the Mercedes-AMG ONE and Formula 1 power units (HPP, Brixworth). The details in the GT 4-Door Coupé's technical bulletin show the closeness: the 46 mm short axial flux motors spin at over 13,000 rpm on the rear axle and over 15,000 rpm on the front axle; the front motor here takes on a booster role and can be taken out of the circuit via the disconnect unit (DCU). On the battery side, 2,660 cylindrical cells, an NCMA cathode, a silicon anode, 298 Wh/kg energy density and direct oil cooling stand out.
What are the differences between the GT 53, GT 55 and GT 63?
The family consists of three versions, and the distinction between them is not just power: battery, charging power and top speed also vary by version. Here is the summary table:
| Feature | GT 53 | GT 55 | GT 63 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Motor | Dual motor (PSM) | Three axial flux motors | Three axial flux motors |
| Power | 543-544 hp | 816 hp | 1,169 hp / 2,000 Nm |
| Battery (usable) | 106 kWh | 128 kWh | 128 kWh |
| Max. DC charging | 600 kW | 710 kW | 710 kW |
| Top speed | 250 km/h | 270 km/h (with package) | 270 km/h (with package) |
| 0-100 km/h | - | - | 2.5 seconds |
On the equipment front, the GT 4-Door Coupé's record card is instructive: the standard AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL air suspension, active rear-axle steering of up to 6 degrees, AMG Performance 4MATIC+ and the AMG FORCE S+ system, which simulates the V8 sound with more than 1,600 sound files, are all part of this family. The AMG RACE ENGINEER, dedicated to driving dynamics, is also a striking detail. According to official figures, energy consumption in the GT 63 ranges from 21.0-17.9 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions are 0 g/km, giving it an A energy class.
When will it come to Türkiye and how much will it cost?
The timeline is shaping up according to the European order opening: orders for the GT 53 opened on October 20, 2026; the GT 55 and GT 63 are planned to go on sale in the spring of 2027. It had been announced that the electric AMG would also be sold in Türkiye, but the sales date and price for the domestic market for the GT 63 SUV have not yet been shared. German prices give an idea: the GT 53 starts from 113,050 Euro; the GT 63, meanwhile, costs 196,000 Euro.
The Türkiye prices of the internal combustion siblings offer a clue about where the electric version will stand. As of the 2026 model year, the AMG GT 43 is 17,347,000 TL; the GT 63 4MATIC+ Performance is 29,794,000 TL; and the GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ is 34,529,000 TL. Considering that in April 2026 the GT 43 was 16,675,000 TL and the GT 63 was 28,640,000 TL, prices continue on an upward trend. It should not be forgotten: The AMG GT was chosen Premium Car of the Year in Türkiye in 2024; the brand's charisma in this market is unquestionable.
The brand's electric schedule and the Türkiye context
Mercedes-Benz Türkiye had announced a plan to bring 16 new cars by the end of 2026: 6 of them fully electric, 10 internal combustion. On a global scale, the brand is targeting roughly 40 new or updated models within two years. The distributor recently announced a historic sales record and reported that the electric AMG GT 4-Door Coupé, followed by the GT SUV in 2027, is raising expectations. In the past, an AMG's arrival in Türkiye was limited to a simple launch event; now charging infrastructure, tax coefficients, and model lineup are discussed together. In this context, the GT 53 arriving first is the most understandable part of the electric AMG family's entry strategy into Türkiye.
Forty years of AMG tradition, a three-motor future
The generation writing these lines first met AMG through six-cylinder W124s and rich V8 sounds. Now the same performance goal is being pursued with axial flux motors 46 mm thick and an 800-volt network. 2.5 seconds was, ten years ago, a territory only hypercars could reach; today it appears on an SUV's official report card.
The question is not one of speed but of infrastructure. 710 kW of charging power is ready on the vehicle side; most stations on the road side cannot yet deliver this power. The GT 63 SUV's Türkiye journey will begin in the spring of 2027; until the price announcement, the most solid data we have for those passionately waiting is the Germany price list and this technical report card.
