OMODA and JAECOO: 13 New Models Coming Within Three Years

The figures that took the stage at the OMODA X Night event held in China on the evening of October 20 turned into an unusual claim in the brand's short three-year history: 99 markets by 2027, 13 new models in three years, and over 800 thousand sales per year. There is a fact that anyone who has been through this business knows well; new brands do not hesitate to announce growth targets, but goals tied to a calendar and backed by numbers are not always disclosed. OMODA and JAECOO did both at once. So how does this plan reflect on the automobile report card in Türkiye?
The targets announced at OMODA X Night: 99 markets, 13 models, 800 thousand sales
The event was hosted by OMODA | JAECOO International CEO Shawn Xu, and the picture presented clearly revealed the brand's scale. OMODA and JAECOO have reached over 1.4 million units in global sales in 3.5 years; today, over 1,700 sales points in 79 countries are in operation. Although only two and a half years have passed, Europe alone accounts for 48 percent of total sales.
Three figures stand out for the coming period: reaching 99 markets by 2027, expanding the product range to 13 models within three years, and closing 2026 with approximately 110 percent growth compared to the previous year, in other words, over 800 thousand units in sales. Electrification is the backbone of this plan; new energy vehicles account for around 81 percent of the technology portfolio, with hybrid and plug-in variants predominant.
Japan, South Korea, and Canada were named among the new target markets. The plan is not limited to new country entries; the development of sales and after-sales service networks in existing markets is also part of the same package. This distinction matters, because the real test of a fast-growing brand begins after the first sale: how it fares in terms of service accessibility, spare parts, and second-hand value will be as decisive as the numbers themselves.
Highlights
- 99 markets by 2027, a target of 13 new models in the next three years
- 2026 is expected to close with over 800 thousand sales, representing approximately 110 percent growth
- Europe alone accounted for 48 percent of global sales in just 2.5 years
- OMODA 7's hybrid system with a 5 kWh battery and 2.2 kW V2L announced
- JAECOO 7 became the UK's best-selling car in September
How did Europe become so critical?
The brand's European performance is the most concrete indicator of whether the announced targets are realistic. In the United Kingdom, it ranked second in the overall automotive market rankings twice in a row in August and September; JAECOO 7 became the country's best-selling car in September. In the January rankings too, JAECOO 7 took second place after the Kia Sportage, leaving behind the Ford Puma. For a Chinese brand to sit at the top of British sales charts less than two years after its founding is a pace that even those who attempted something similar decades ago could not have dreamed of.
The picture is similar in continental Europe. In the first six months following its launch in France, sales reached more than 3,000 units per month and over 10,000 units in total. In Spain and Italy, monthly sales exceeded 4,000 units. In April 2026, Europe recorded 7,152 registrations and a 4.79 percent market share; In the United Kingdom, 52,828 units sold and a 4.58 percent share were announced for the first half. Outside Europe, monthly sales in Brazil exceeded 6,500 units, in Thailand the brand entered the top three best-selling brands, and the JAECOO 5 EV remained at the peak of electric sales for consecutive months. In Pakistan, the brand entered the top four brands six months after its market launch.
Do the 2026 sales calendar figures confirm this?
Global sales in the first half of the year reached 379,110 units; June alone reached 75,102 units, recording 178 percent growth. July brought 69,739 units, a 149 percent increase; the total for the first seven months stood at 448,849 units. Two consecutive months of sales above 75,000 units show that the annual target of 800,000 is not entirely a fantasy. On the product side, certain models are drawing the weight: In June, the JAECOO 5 was the best-selling model with 26,785 units; the JAECOO 7 reached 20,890 units. The JAECOO 5 EV and JAECOO 5 SHS-H duo reached a monthly volume exceeding 20,000 units seven months after entering the market.
One explanation for this speed is also the product strategy: the brand built a range broad enough not to rest on the shoulders of a single model in a short time, and meets each market with a powertrain suited to its own conditions. With the announcement at the Beijing Fair in April 2026, a sales threshold of 1 million in three years had been surpassed, and at that time 69 markets, 1,364 dealers, and an average of one new market opening every 16 days were cited. As of October, the number of markets rising to 79 and the European share rising to 48 percent show that the curve has not yet broken.
What does the hybrid version of the OMODA 7 with a 5 kWh battery bring?
The most comprehensive announcement on the technical side of the event was about the OMODA 7. The system, to be used for the first time in the model, promises a broader electric-assisted usage than conventional hybrids with the 5 kWh capacity battery. A battery of this size in full hybrid architectures means above-usual electric range and prolonged silent operation at low speeds; in addition, the brand defines a Super Quiet Mode aiming for near-EV silence from initial movement to high speeds.
The second notable detail is the 2.2 kW V2L function. This solution, which enables energy transfer from the vehicle to external devices, is rarely seen in a hybrid car; the brand positions it as a world first for hybrids. A meaningful advantage for users who need energy at campsites. The system is also accompanied by smart rest, safety monitoring, and scheduled usage modes. To complete the context, the fifth-generation 1.5 TGDI DHE engine in the JAECOO 7 PHEV offers up to 525 Nm of torque and 255 kW of power; Transferring the group's electrification know-how to the OMODA 7 is hardly a surprise.
OMODA 4: thermal insulation coating, SIVP and SIAS

The second announced technical highlight is the thermal insulation coating called Super Thermal Insulation Coating, developed for hot climates on the OMODA 4. In the manufacturer's comparative tests, the cabin temperature of the vehicle with this coating remained 8-10 degrees lower than that of a rival vehicle; and when a sunshade was used in the rival, the difference dropped to about 5 degrees, it was announced. The silver-colored coating does not block the view of the sky from the cabin and gives it a futuristic exterior look. A measured approach is needed here: the results are based on the manufacturer's own test conditions and there is no independent verification yet. The SHS-H full hybrid version, presented in the context of the Paris Motor Show 2026, was defined with 224 HP total power, 295 Nm of torque and a 1.83 kWh battery that requires no charging.
Two more technologies will shape the future of the lineup. SIVP, i.e. Super Intelligent Valet Parking, covers the vehicle autonomously coming to the user's side, searching for a parking spot and parking in complex areas; Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets are targeted in the first phase, it was planned to be launched in Indonesia and the UAE in August, and road tests are ongoing. It is worth noting that Türkiye is not in the first phase. SIAS, on the other hand, is an AI-powered cockpit introduced in Southeast Asia in July, one that understands intent, emotion and preferences; working with a large language model, the system can learn user habits and control seven vehicle functions with a single command. It is planned to be offered gradually with the OMODA 4.
There is also a concrete step on the safety side: the brand completed the EU UN/ECE R171 Safety Management System audit and received a certificate from the Netherlands' RDW. A smart driving assistance test was also conducted with the JAECOO 7 in the traffic around the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. On the design side of the event, the OMODA X concept made its world premiere; carrying the OMODA 4's Cyber Mecha design language further, with its sharp lines and tall body it shows the direction of tomorrow's crossover. The concept is not a production model.
How does this growth plan reflect on the Turkish market?
In Türkiye, the brand's distributor is Chery Otomobil Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and the current price list is valid until October 31, 2026. The lineup includes the OMODA 5, OMODA 7 and JAECOO 7; in the July list the entry price was at the 2,099,000 TL level, with the JAECOO 7 Revive 4x2 DCT starting from 2,390,000 TL and the OMODA 7 starting from 2,680,000 TL at its launch.
| Model / Version | Türkiye price (July 2026) |
|---|---|
| Entry level (OMODA 5) | 2,099,000 TL |
| JAECOO 7 Revive 4x2 DCT | 2,390,000 TL |
| OMODA 7 (launch start) | 2,680,000 TL |
The real question of curiosity is this: with the global picture so bright, is the picture in Türkiye moving at the same pace? Even publications connected to the distributor point to a contraction trend in the Turkish market. This tension between the record growth in the brand's official narrative and the slowdown in the local market will form the compass for decisions about the dealer network and model lineup in Türkiye in the period ahead. It is not yet clear which segments the 13 announced models will span; there is only an emphasis on different body types, electrification options and smart mobility technologies. The Türkiye timeline for the OMODA 7's 5 kWh hybrid version has not been announced either. Therefore, the first tangible result the Turkish buyer will see from this plan will most likely be an enrichment of the powertrain options of existing models.
Assessment: ambition or reality?
13 models in three years and 800 thousand annual sales may at first glance read like the well-intentioned slogan of a young brand. But once you look behind the numbers, the picture changes: A model becoming the UK's best-seller, Europe accounting for half of global sales in two and a half years, and 448 thousand units reached in the first seven months show that the target is not hanging in the air, but is an extension of an existing momentum. The real test will be how growth translates into after-sales service, customer satisfaction and resale value. In the past, new brands opened doors with a price advantage; now the winners are those that can also stay standing on the service and used-car side. If OMODA and JAECOO pass this test, the 99-market target will cease to be a smiling matter and become the industry's new benchmark. Türkiye, in this picture, stands among the markets where growth has not yet been fully captured but the door is open.
